We're extremely close to the Craigvinean Forest downhill tracks, which are perfect for intermediate and advanced riders. Of course there are lots of other tracks in the region that are ideal for family bike rides. Our friends at Dunkeld-based Progression Bikes are the go-to guys (and girls) for biking in the region. They also provide a pickup service (bookable on their website) just five minutes ride from Kennacoil.
If you’re like us, you’re probably a lover of great-locally sourced food. You’re well served in Perthshire, and we have several very good places to eat in Dunkeld, just down the road from Kennacoil.
Scotland is famed for its seafood, beef, lamb and venison and the area has a wealth of culinary talent who showcase our world-class produce.
Okay, now we’re hungry…
If wildlife is your thing, then bring your hiking boots and binoculars with you because our little slice of Perthshire is home to everything from majestic golden eagles to inquisitive beavers.
We even have the Monarch of the Glen himself… the imposing red stag. An unforgettable sight during the rut in Autumn.
There are a number of gorgeous walks around Kennacoil – some you can set off from right from your accommodation – and others you’ll probably want to drive to before you start.
The great thing about the walks in the area, is that they range from very easy jaunts to more challenging hillwalking.
The more extreme activities in the area come courtesy of our mates (and self-confessed adrenalin junkies) Nae limits and Highland Fling. From bungee jumping to white water rafting, these guys will make sure you have an incredible time with highly trained and safety-accredited instructors.
Has it been a while since you wet a line? We can sort that. The River Tay is just a cast away from Kennacoil and offers some of the best salmon fishing in Europe. It doesn’t stop at game fishing though.
The area is also blessed with fantastic coarse angling and we personally know a few awesome pike spots for you to try.
